Florit/Florit is pleased to present Selected Poems, a solo exhibition by French artist Fabio Viscogliosi. Bringing together three large paintings and a constellation of thirty drawings, the exhibition invites viewers into the artist’s poetic world —a place where images, words, and sounds merge in a quiet yet playful rhythm.
In Selected Poems, Viscogliosi reveals the source of his imagery in its most elemental form. The works, presented in black and white, reflect a space of beginnings—where a cup, a cloud, a dog, or a simple gesture can become a carrier of emotion and narrative. Through intuitive, fragmentary compositions, he transforms the residue of everyday life into a tender bricolage of signs and sensations.
His practice finds echoes in Claude Lévi-Strauss’s idea of “mythical thought,” assembling fragments to restore a sense of order and possibility. Viscogliosi’s drawings unfold like a visual diary, balancing the mystery of existence with the small joys of the day-to-day: a walk, a cup of tea, a drifting cloud. The exhibition extends this generosity to the viewer, inviting each to find their own rhythm within the artist’s inner landscape.
Fabio Viscogliosi (b. 1965, Oullins, France) lives and works between Lyon and Geneva. Painter, designer, writer & musician, his work is inspired by various paths and fields – literature, burlesque cinema, poetry, fables, architecture history, book covers or postcards.
His work has been exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art (Lyon), Musée des Arts Décoratifs (Paris), Galerie du Jour – Agnès B. (Paris), and Intermediatheque (Tokyo). He has made several solo exhibitions at L21 Gallery, additionally to ARCO Madrid, Untitled Miami, JPS Gallery (Tokyo) or Romero Paprocki Gallery (Paris).
Viscogliosi has published several novels in France, as well as comic books and art zines. As a musician, he has recorded numerous albums, including Camera (Objet Disque, 2021), and collaborated with artists like Amedeo Pace (Blonde Redhead) and Vanessa Paradis. As a novelist he is publishing with Editions Actes Sud. New record and art book are announced for 2026.
