Exhibition text

When I walked her home after our first date, I asked:

What are you doing tomorrow?
Nothing.
Want to do nothing together?

This project begins there.

A simple answer that, over time, ceased to be a joke.
Doing nothing together is not the same as doing nothing.
It is something else.

It is a way of being together without accounting for time.
Without forcing anything.
Letting things unfold.

Over time, this has become a way of working, of looking, of sharing.

This project develops from that position.

It does not propose a fixed reading or a closed meaning.
The works sit alongside one another.
They come into contact. They shape each other.
Without fully resolving.

As in life.

Perhaps this is what it offers:
the possibility for something to exist without justification.
For a while, the visitor may do the same.

To be.
Without haste.
Without aim.

Tomorrow, we will do nothing together again.
